Vampires, werewolves, psychics, and one very creepy guy in a latex suit. Who needs horror movies when you've got CSI?

When most people think about Halloween entertainment, they picture horror movie marathons. Me? I'm heading straight back to the Las Vegas Crime Lab.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has been one of my favorite shows since childhood. Somehow, a show about dead bodies, forensic evidence, and questionable decisions in Las Vegas became one of my comfort shows. Is that weird? Maybe. But I know I'm not alone.

So grab your favorite fall drink, get comfortable, and prepare to spend Halloween in Sin City.

1. Pilot — Season 1, Episode 1

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation — Pilot — Season 1, Episode 1

The one that started it all! Okay, hear me out: the pilot isn't technically a Halloween episode, but that creepy severed Halloween hand absolutely earns it a place on my list.

There's something wonderfully nostalgic about the original cast, early forensic technology, and a much younger Nick Stokes. It's where the obsession began for so many of us.

2. Suckers — Season 4, Episode 13

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation — Suckers — Season 4, Episode 13

Because what's Halloween without vampires? Catherine and Warrick investigate a strange death that leads them into a vampire subculture in Las Vegas.

Honestly, I'm not sure why anyone in this city is surprised by anything anymore. Gothic nightlife, blood, and forensic science make this a perfect spooky-season pick.

3. Werewolves — Season 6, Episode 11

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation — Werewolves — Season 6, Episode 11

A murder victim with excessive body hair and a silver bullet? That's a werewolf mystery with a forensic twist.

The investigation touches on hypertrichosis, a rare condition that causes excessive hair growth, and gives us a surprisingly emotional story beneath all the monster-movie atmosphere. Sometimes the real monsters are human.

4. Spellbound — Season 6, Episode 19

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation — Spellbound — Season 6, Episode 19

When a psychic is murdered, the team investigates eerie predictions and questions about whether someone could really see the future.

And we can't forget Greg casually telling the lab that he might be a little psychic himself! Apparently his Grandma Olaf was psychic, and Greg thinks he may have inherited some of her abilities. I love these little glimpses into Greg's wonderfully strange family history.

Naturally, the evidence still matters more than the supernatural explanations, but the atmosphere is perfect for Halloween.

5. Let It Bleed — Season 9, Episode 4

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation — Let It Bleed — Season 9, Episode 4

This one actually takes place around Halloween, making it an obvious choice. Costumes, Vegas nightlife, and a complicated murder investigation? Sign me up.

I'll be watching this one with Halloween candy, pretending that murder investigations count as cozy fall entertainment. Because in my house, they absolutely do.

6. Blood Moon — Season 11, Episode 3

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation — Blood Moon — Season 11, Episode 3

Vampires versus werewolves. Yes, really. The team investigates a gruesome murder connected to rival vampire and werewolf communities.

It aired in 2010, right in the middle of the Twilight-era obsession with all things supernatural. CSI just made the whole thing significantly bloodier.

7. Sqweegel — Season 11, Episode 4

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation — Sqweegel — Season 11, Episode 4

Finally, the episode that makes you check underneath your furniture. Sqweegel is a contortionist killer in a full-body latex suit who seems able to hide just about anywhere.

This is less cozy Halloween and more full-on nightmare fuel. If you've seen it, you know exactly why it's my grand finale.

Who Needs Horror Movies When You've Got CSI?

One of my favorite things about CSI is how it could turn anything into a fascinating murder mystery: vampires, folklore, psychics, or a genuinely terrifying killer.

For me, revisiting these episodes is about more than spooky stories. It's the nostalgia of the original crime lab, the familiar theme song, and watching Grissom and the team piece together another bizarre case.

This Halloween, I'll be grabbing a cozy blanket and settling in for a little forensic nostalgia. Which creepy CSI episode would you add to this watchlist?

Happy Halloween, and remember: the evidence never lies.
